This year we are aiming to help people like Reid and his family through the Breathe and Win raffle.See Prizes!
Reid’s favourite thing to do is play on the monkey bars with his best friend. Thanks to a terrific health care team, Reid is able to play with his friends, jump on the trampoline, and play soccer despite being diagnosed with asthma, sleep apnea, and an Arnold Chiari Type 1 malformation.
When Reid was a baby, his mom, Josi, noticed he had a lot of breathing problems including snoring while he was awake. Reid began inhalers at a young age for asthma, and had his adenoids and tonsils removed when he was seven to help with his sleep apnea. When he had trouble recovering from the tonsillectomy, Reid had an MRI, which revealed the Chiari malformation. With multiple diagnoses, Josi reached out to The Lung Association of Saskatchewan for advice and support for Reid’s lung health. This included connecting with one of nurses, and joining the Sleep Apnea and Asthma support groups.
The Lung Association’s cause has always been near and dear to Josi’s heart. Untreated severe asthma resulted in the early death of Josi’s maternal grandfather in the 1940s. Also, Josi herself has asthma, along with her husband. Thanks to the support of our donors, The Lung Association of Saskatchewan has been able to help those living with a lung disease, like Reid and his parents, live their life to the fullest.
We would be grateful for your support, by purchasing a ticket for only $30. Those who purchase a ticket can also add-on a 50/50 ticket for another chance to win!
All funds raised support vital research, advocacy, education, and patient support programs in Saskatchewan. We are here to help Saskatchewan breathe. Because when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.
